A Daughter’s Surprise

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

I visited my mother one Sunday.  It was a surprised visit actually. I had been busy for the past months that I never had the time to even call her on the phone.  And this time, after a hectic schedule from work, I was given the break by my superior to  enjoy a one week vacation, so I grab the opportunity to be with my mother.

Along the way to her house, I sighted different planters displayed for sale.  I decided to buy some for my mother’s flower plants. I still remember how she love collecting different kinds of flowers.  I enter at one of the planter stores to look for indoor planter in exchange to the old one display at the corner of her house.  Lots of indoor planters of different colors and sizes are available.   I guess, I also need to bring her outdoor planters to add more attraction on her flowers at the patio.  I also buy one for my own veranda.

I cannot wait to see my mother’s smile after seeing my gifts to her.  And  promise to visit her as often as possible.

Favorite Past Time

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

My friend introduced me in this kind of past time because he knows that I love trying new adventurous things and poker definitely is one big adventure for me. My friend has been playing for quite some time now and he is very good at the game already. Playing poker makes me forget about the work load and how stressful it can be and this is the real meaning of good time for me. I also do this as part of our friendship bonding since the location from his place to mine kept us literally distant. As a first time player he told me a lot about the Poker Stars Bonus Code and how to get it.
There are a lot of privileges like PokerStars Bonus that you can get by joining a membership with them and it is as easy as 1, 2, and 3. He has deposited a lot of it and this keeps him going throughout the game. I also inquired about the marketing code and told me that PokerStars Marketing Code should be accomplished first both for the first time users and also for those who have the account and will be having their deposits. I never thought that playing poker would be very hard for first timer like me but it was not. All you have to do is to listen and have a presence of mind.

A Very Special Event In My Life

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Such a wonderful day!  My boyfriend invited me to have a dinner after office.  Although we always have dinner together, this is the first time that we will spend our anniversary in a five star hotel.  Of course, I am so excited.

At the hotel restaurant, a fantastic menu and fresh fruits were served to us.  After eating, I was surprised by my boyfriend’s marriage proposal together with a diamond ring.  And since I really love my boyfriend, I gave him a positive answer.  That same day, we informed our parents on our wedding plans.  A unique wedding ideas came to my mind for a very special event in my life. From the wedding dress that I will wear that will enhace my beauty and to the dresses of the bridesmaids, I want it to be special. For me, a personalized wedding invitation is something different.  I am still thinking of something extra-ordinary in the wedding reception.  I guess, my sister can share her ideas with regards to the flower arrangements.  Definitely, we will hire a wedding planner to sort all the things needed in our wedding.  I then told my future husband what is my dream wedding and I am very lucky that he supported me all the way.

That night, I still cannot believe that I am going to marry the guy that I have love since the first time we met.

Software Estimation and Controlled Risk

Friday, July 17th, 2009

I’ve written before on the predictive nature of estimation software. Using cost estimating software products as project management software can help show you aspects of your project which you haven’t accounted for, particularly things like risk.

You can't take that leap back

You can’t take that leap back

However, software estimation products can do more than highlight areas which you haven’t seen, they can also peer around the corner and show that which you haven’t done yet. Through the software’s rather developed, and mathematically sound, understanding of your project, that understanding can be leveraged towards making theoretical changes.

Think about it this way, software estimation project management software allows you, the project manager to play the “What if…” game. What if I doubled my workforce? What if I reduced everyone’s workload by 10%? What if deadlines were all extended by 10%? What if I assigned every part of the project to just one person?

The questions can seem trivial, even comical, however they point to a very interesting application for such software – they ability to control, limit, and even potentially mitigate risk. The questions I just posed all center around one significant area – the sharing of a workload to make a project easier on employees.

How does making project members work easier help to control risk? Well, for one thing, for projects which are heavily dependent on multiple deadlines all being satisfied in a particular order, specifically where one group is waiting on the work of another, each deadline represents a potential point of failure. By making deadlines easier to achieve, the risk of failure is thus avoided.

Of course, deadlines represent just one area of risk. I like to use them as an example because hard deadlines seem to exist in every area from newspapers to software companies to automobile manufactures. The flexibility of project management software which employees these estimation techniques means that project managers can juggle all sorts of variables in a project finding the optimal mix. In the end, such juggling helps to control the risk of uncertainty.

It’s the Eco-Friendly Way

Friday, July 17th, 2009

We’re all trying to be more environmentally aware these days, and a great way to do that is to buy pre-owned products that are still in great shape. For businesses, that means buying used trade show displays instead of new ones. While new displays can still be eco-friendly, buying a used trade show booth means that no additional resources had to be used to create another display.

The only thing better than being eco-friendly is saving money, and with a used trade show display, you can do both. Pre-owned displays cost much less than comparable new displays, and the savings you’ll get from buying used can be put towards accessories like banner stands, literature racks, and flooring - all things that will draw more people to your display. Save your company some money and do the environment a favor by buying a used trade show display from Trade Show Joe. It’s a decision you won’t soon regret.

Soul Searching

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

What is “soul”? It is the essence of every being Soul is neither visible nor quantifiable. Every living creature on earth has a soul which accompanies the physical body throughout the life time, and departs the shell upon death onto its continuous journey thereafter.

Can soul be felt? It is most definitely. Even though the soul cannot be seen or touched, it’s an essence that each living being undoubtedly recognizes its presence. Unfortunately, many souls are lost in its own negativity or the negativity of others around them. When a soul is lost, darkness and despair set in. One can never be happy without the awakening of the soul. Depression is the most common symptom of a lost soul.

To find our soul, one must be committed in self-love and honesty. If we cannot be authentic to our own inner most cores, any progress made is only superficial. Soul searching takes much strength and courage. It is often when we no longer can endure the pain in our darkest nights, we are then forced to pay attention to the aching of our soul.

An important aspect of soul searching is to let go of all expectations of you and of others. Write down what feels “true” to you, your personal truth and values. Write down what scares you the most, and what brings you most joy. In the process of doing so, you have a chance to clearly examine the motives and the core of your being. Sometimes, we are surprised to find out who we truly are or the strength that we never kindly give ourselves credits for..

Another clear sign of a suffering soul is addictions. When a soul suffers either in pain or in shame, it inevitably grasps substances in the attempt to take away the pain. Unfortunately, the addictive substances can only “mask” the pain without any promise of cure. Addictions can never truly take away one’s suffering. If you have addictions, it does not mean you are weak or bad. It is a clear sign for you to re-examine your soul and the aching attention it has tried very hard to receive. Starting today, notice what you truly feel when your cravings come up. There is usually a very uncomfortable emotion behind every craving, so uncomfortable that we try very hard to repress it by stuffing or busying ourselves with the substances or addictive actions of our choice. The only way to find our soul again is to feel its existence and needs. Also, the only way for us to rid our pain or shame is to work “through” it, not over it, nor around it.

Each soul from the light is pure and beautiful. The challenges of surviving in the physical world often dampen the light on a soul journey. It should not only be a preference, but our responsibility to walk a path of authenticity as the only way to true happiness is to through recognizing and respect the calling of our soul.

Getting In Touch

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

It feels really gloomy when you are away from your loved ones. That is one thing I can probably testify upon being assigned in a remote area too far away from the main district. I would really have a hard time getting contact with my family and friends if it were not for my mailbox. It is really a huge help for me.

Mailboxes are very important to people like me who only get to receive letters from my loved ones through snail mail. The internet connection in our country has not yet reached our remote community and it is through mail boxes that I get in contact with my family and friends. Good thing there are a lot of Commercial mailboxes available in the city and all I have to do is to drop my letter on those and Mr. Postman would deliver it for me. I have received tons of replies from them and it really wipe out all the sadness I feel being away from them. I am really not use to this kind of setting since my we have a close family tie. Next month I have a vacation leave and I am going back home to be able to see them face to face and spend quality time with them again.

We are God’s Perfect Creation

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

A girl walks in the room; everyone looks at her because of her clothes. She has the “emo-goth” look going on. Teachers judge her as a troublemaker. No one will come up and say hi to her, but she doesn’t care. She knows who she is. She knows why she dresses the way she does. She dresses that way because she wants to. It’s not because she’s a devil worshiper or that she cuts herself, it’s just because it is her way of expressing her inner self. Eventually hope that people would try to look deeper.

Teens nowadays are different. They are stronger and expressive compared to the older generation who are so laid back and reserve. Teen nowadays know how to self-express more without caring to what other people might say. Preps, jocks, emos, punks, goths, and nerds are people too. People can be very judgmental and narrow minded. They just say what they want to say even to the expense of hurting other people’s emotion. No one should be treated that way. I have friends that are all of the categories I listed and probably more and I feel sad for them. I myself have had those kinds of ridicules and castigation of people who are not even close to knowing the real me. Being true to you is all that should matter.

When I was little and I had just started school it didn’t matter what you wore or how you looked. Back in my childhood, I have a lot of friends who are of the same interests as I do, we laugh and make other people laugh doing crazy stuff like the world do not matter at all. Those were the days where I do not have to pretend to be someone else just to please everybody. All I have to do is to be myself. I remember my dad use to tell me that people should not be judge by the way they look. You should get to know a person much deeper. Look into his heart and not to his physical appearance. I have learned to respect people no matter what looks they choose to have. Who should care how people look or dress? In the eyes of our Lord, we are all his perfect creation, we are all his children.

Searching For the Latest Trends

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

A friend of mine called up. She and her boyfriend will go to an auto show to see the latest cars offered by different top car manufacturers.  And because she knows that I am a car enthusiast, she invited me to join them. The truth is, I really have plan of buying a new car this year in addition to my car collection. However, I never had the chance to visit a motor store to search for the latest model of cars.  I am glad to have a friend that never failed to inform me every time an activity with regards to cars happen.

Huge of car enthusiasts and car buyers came along with us in the motor show. A pumped-up aftermarket hall featuring thousands of square meters salutes the increasing popularity of customized rides in town.  Different type of cars with the latest trends and best deals were offered.  I am very fascinated at the chrysler car model. I am pretty sure that my brother will not hesitate to borrow it once he got to see it in my garage.  What attracts my friend’s most is the convertible mini cooper model. For a business minded person like her,  this type of car is best suited to her needs.  And for his boyfriend who is always on the go, an audi tt type of car reflects his personalty.

It’s a good thing that i join my friends in said auto show. That same day, I made a decision of what model of car is best for me.
